Our Composting & Worm Farm Workshop was a great day at the garden with 30 visitors turning up to hear Kimbriki’s Senior Eco Gardener Peter Rutherford deliver a very detailed and heartfelt presentation.
Sydney turned on a superbly sunny winter’s day without biting winds and everyone went away with a greater understanding of how and why we need to recycle our waste food and scraps and a real appreciation of the humble worm.
Our raffle of composting products donated by Bunnings Balgowlah raised $141 towards supplies for the garden.
Special thanks to Balgowlah RSL for our brand new pull up banner and to friends of the garden Ian Schutt and James Grady who kindly produced an excellent new ‘How To Compost’ banner.
Following the workshop we stayed on to meet beekeeper David Harris who helped solve the mystery of the missing bees from our second hive and provide invaluable advice about bringing the hive to life again.
All up a very successful day and thanks Peter Rutherford and everyone else who helped out. We will be following up with our visitors to invite them to join us and tell them about our Oct 22 4th Birthday Spring Gala.
